This user guide explains how to install and use Unicast Lite.

What do I need in order to run Unicast Lite?

Unicast Lite is compatible and has been tested with PC's running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and 3, Windows Vista and Windows 7. (32-bit operating systems only)

The system requirements (CPU speed, RAM) are very low for the software, but suffice it to say that if you can run Windows XP on your machine, there is a very good chance your PC will be capable of running Unicast.

Where can I download the latest software from?

Download the latest version for FREE from the release article : Latest Release of Unicast Lite. It includes many improvements to performance, stability and the auto update process.

Does Unicast Lite run on Windows 7 64-bit?

Currently Unicast Lite has only been tested on Windows 7 as a 32-bit application. We will be testing and compiling a 64bit version as soon as possible, this website will be updated if this becomes available.

We have been tested and developed Unicast lite compatibility for Windows 7. Version 2.0.8.2 upwards should be compatible with Windows 7 (32-bit). The latest version is always available for free download from this website or if you already have Unicast Lite installed you should be offered the option to update automatically when you start the application.

If you are using a 64-bit installation then Unicast Lite should not install, we are planning to do some testing and development towards a 64-bit version but for the time being this is not supported.

Can I register without internet connection?

Yes!

Please refer to the following article for instructions: How to register Unicast Lite while off-line

Is Unicast Lite available in other languages?

Unicast Lite is only available in British English at this time, we would consider making a translated version if there was sufficient demand. If you require enough units then we will undertake making a localized version available for your language. Please contact us and let us know how many units are you thinking of purchasing and if there is a lot of interest in Bluetooth marketing in your country.

  • Dongle being used was not purchased from BlueAd.
  • Using a BlueAd dongle that was sold for use in another product (eg Unicast Pro) contact us to get it switched to Unicast Lite.
  • Dongle was a trial version that has expired, contact BlueAd sales to return dongle or buy full product.

How the Auto start-up feature works

A campaign is created with the Auto start-up option checked, the campaign is currently in date and marked as Enabled; if this campaign is started and then Unicast Lite is closed (whilst it is still running) the campaign stops and the application closes. Now the next time that Unicast Lite is opened the campaign will be started automatically (as long as it has not expired yet). This is equivalent to user clicking the start button, this feature was introduced so that users would not have to remember to restart campaigns after performing a reboot of their machine.

This is particularly useful when starting Unicast Lite minimized on Windows start-up.
