Intro
This article explains how to change the radio name of your Bluetooth dongle.
Radio name is the name that people see on their mobile phones when a send attempt is made. For example if your radio name was set to "Doughnut Shop" then people may see a message like "Accept message from Doughnut Shop?" on their mobile phone.
Change Radio Name in Windows XP
1. Ensure that your dongle is plugged in.
2. To open the "Bluetooth Devices" console; double click the Bluetooth icon in the Taskbar or alternatively if there is no Bluetooth icon in the Taskbar go to "Start > Control Panel > Bluetooth Devices".
3. In the "Bluetooth Devices" console go to the "Hardware" tab.
4. In the "Devices" list select the "Generic Bluetooth Radio" and click the [Properties] button
5. That opens the "Generic Bluetooth Radio Properties" form, go to the "Advanced" tab.
6. In the "Name" textbox type in the desired name then click [OK] button
Change Radio Name in Windows Vista
1. Ensure that your dongle is plugged in.
2. To open the "Bluetooth Devices" console; double click the Bluetooth icon in the Taskbar or alternatively if there is no Bluetooth icon in the Taskbar go to "Start > Control Panel > Bluetooth Devices".
3. In the "Bluetooth Devices" console go to the "Hardware" tab.
4. In the "Devices" list select the "Generic Bluetooth Radio" and click the [Properties] button
5. That opens the "Generic Bluetooth Radio Properties" form, on the "General" tab click the [Change settings] button and when the "User Account Control" dialog pops up click the [Continue] button to confirm that you wish to do this.
6. Back on the "Generic Bluetooth Radio Properties" form, go to the "Advanced" tab.
7. In the "Name" textbox type in the desired name then click [OK] button

Radio name can now be set in Unicast Lite when used on Windows XP, ou can download the latest version (at time of writing) for FREE using the link below. To set the radio name simply edit an existing campaign or create a new one and type the desired name into the "Radio Name :" textbox and save your campaign.
