Intro
This article explains how to uninstall the Toshiba Bluetooth Drivers for Windows Vista.
Currently Unicast Lite only runs using the Microsoft Windows Bluetooth Stack and will not work if the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack is installed.
The article is written based on tests run on a default install Windows Vista Home Basic machine fully up to date with all Windows updates at time of writing, the following process may differ on other installations.
Uninstall the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack from Windows Vista
1. Click on the "Start" menu
2. Click on "Control Panel", depending on how your machine is set up you will see either the "Control Panel Home" view or the "Classic View" of the Control panel (see images below.)
a) If you are using "Control Panel Home" view then look under the "Programs" section and click the "Uninstall a program" link.
b) If you are using "Classic View" then double click on the item named "Programs and Features" (this is the same as "Add Remove Programs" from previous versions of Windows).
| Control Panel Home |
Classic View |
 |
 |
This will open the "Programs and Features" window (see image below.)
3. Right click "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" and in the context menu click "Uninstall".
4. A confirmation dialog will be displayed (see image below.) Click [Yes].
5. An extra dialog may pop-up now and ask you to confirm that you wish to allow an unidentified program to run, if so click "Allow".
6. A final confirmation dialog will now show, saying something like "Are you sure you want to delete all your Bluetooth..." (see image below.) Click [Yes].
7. An uninstallation dialog will show with a progress bar, once the uninstall is complete this closes itself. This may take a few minutes.
8. The windows drivers should already be in place so you can just go ahead and run Unicast Lite.
