Intro
This article explains how to get event logs in Windows XP and Vista. During some support situations a support agent may ask you to check the Event Log for information or error messages related to BlueAd applications.
Windows XP
Unicast Lite(version 2.0.3.0 and above) and Unicast Pro
- Click on the start menu
- Right click "Computer" a context menu should appear
- Click on the option which says "Manage", the "Computer Management" console window will open.
- In the treeview of items on the left hand side expand the "System Tools" node if it is not already expanded.
- Expand the node "Event Viewer"
- Click on the node "BlueAdLog", you should see a list of events appear in the right hand panel
- You can double click on individual event log to see more details and then optionally use the [Copy] button and paste the text in to an email to your support agent at support@eigo.co.uk.
- To save the entire set of event logs to a file for emailing to support, right click on the node "BlueAdLog" and in the context menu select "Save Log File As...".
Unicast Lite(version 2.0.2.0 and below) and Original Unicast
- Click on the start menu
- Right click "Computer" a context menu should appear
- Click on the option which says "Manage", the "Computer Management" console window will open.
- In the treeview of items on the left hand side expand the "System Tools" node if it is not already expanded.
- Expand the node "Event Viewer"
- Click on the node "Application", you should see a list of events appear in the right hand panel
- If you see any events which are errors ("Level" column will have a red symbol in it) and the "Source" column is either BlueAd or Unicast then you can double click on it to see more details.
- You can then optionally use the [Copy] button and paste the text in to an email to your support agent at support@eigo.co.uk.
Windows Vista
Unicast Lite(version 2.0.3.0 and above) and Unicast Pro
- Click on the start menu
- Right click "Computer" a context menu should appear
- Click on the option which says "Manage" and click [Continue] if you get a security request.
- In the treeview of items on the left hand side expand the "System Tools" node if it is not already expanded.
- Expand the node "Event Viewer"
- Expand the node "Applications and Service Logs"
- Click on the node "BlueAdLog", after a while you should see a list of events appear in the middle panel
- You can double click on individual event log to see more details and then optionally use the [Copy] button and paste the text in to an email to your support agent at support@eigo.co.uk.
- To save the entire set of event logs to a file for emailing to support, right click on the node "BlueAdLog" and in the context menu select "Save Events As...".
